Title: The links between general and private revelation
Post by: Pelly on February 06, 2013, 05:27:57 AM
This (http://mt.net/~watcher/october13maryfatima.html) site attacks Fatima with accusations of UFO phenomeon. I know that Fatima is true from the fulfillment of second secret. But the site states that Our Lady of Fatima contradicted the Gospel by asking us to not sin, unless Communist Russia would spread her errors. If something is in prophecy, can we reverse it? Was Communism predicted, and if something is a true prophecy, does it means that it needs to be fulfilled?

The "doesn't fit Scripture" accusation raises another question: Why does God grant salvation for everyone if He already knows the fate of others?

I wouldn't pay any attention to what some nutty site like that says about Fatima. It is, in my opinion, the most important Marian Apparition in the history of the world. Sites like that should be ignored.

As Pope Pius XII said: "The time for doubting Fatima has past".

Dear Servus,
What you say is true.
And we have Pope Pius XII on our side.
Well done for defending Our Lady of Fatima.
Servus, you have defended Our Lady of Fatima before - on a separate thread.
You did a noble deed in defending Our Lady of Fatima.
God Bless you, Servus.
Yours, Sede Catholic.

Thanks Sede, I appreciate that.

Fatima is very important, and these whacko sites that criticize it should be ignored.

Pelly, why waste your precious time on a site which is so obviously anti-Catholic?

Second, how did our Lady contradict the Gospel? That is impossible. As for "unless Communist Russia would spread her errors" there are always consequences of sin.

These questions depend on whether the prophecy is fullfilled or unfullfilled. Prophecy is for our benefit in order to instruct, warn, exhort us. If we respond in the right way, an unfillfilled prophecy may be mitigated. A prophecy does not need to be fullfilled if we mend our ways. The need is ours.
