Not a few interior souls encounter exceedingly great difficulty in endeavoring to pray attentively the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, on account of the sundry obstacles that fallen human nature presents. It is therefore expedient that the following material drawn from the tome Our Lady's Rosary by Rev. Frs. Charles J. Callan, O.P. and John A. McHugh, O. P., (New York: P. J. Kenedy & Sons, 1939), be presented for the greater glory of Jesus and Mary and for the edification of their servants who are devoted to them by means of the recitation of their illustrious Psalter, which we know as the Holy Rosary.

The Scriptural texts from the New Testament were culled from The New Testament of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Translated into English from the Original Greek by the Very Rev. Francis Aloysius Spencer, O.P., edited by Rev. Frs. Charles J. Callan, O.P. and John A. McHugh, O.P. (New York: MacMillan, 1937).
