I just hope everything works out well.
Would you believe some say that things are much worse than the Government claims ("jobless recovery", "6% unemployment", etc.)
The facts are much more interesting. The last time we had such a small number of people participating in the job market was 1978, which was a very bad recession.
You see, that 6% figure is completely bogus. Haven't worked in a year? Haven't looked in a few months? They stop counting you. Are you working at McDonalds instead of your old career-type job? They don't count you. Working part time for 1/3 or 1/2 what you used to make? Not counted.
The government is trying desperately to deceive everyone into thinking everything is doing great right now. And they're going to blame some "rogue country" when the economy finally collapses (which is inevitable). "We had a wonderful recovery underfoot, remember? Until those bastards from ____ attacked our precious city _____."
In a recession, you know someone who lost his job.
In a depression, you lose YOUR job.
Anyhow, I'm in the same boat myself, only minus the "in three months".
And I don't see the economy improving, either. That's the hard part. Not that I'm giving up, mind you, but I'm also trying to prepare meanwhile for post-SHTF
retirement on $0/year. Not an easy task!
