Was this even a valid baptism?

I wanted to see how the byzantine rite of chrismation was like so I decided to watch a video of a baptism

The baptism starts at 15:17 but I just see the bishop putting the back of baby in the water but no water on his forehead. How often do baptisms like this happen in the byzantine rite? Are they valid? If they aren't valid and they are common this is quite problematic.

Yes, they hit the back of the head.  If you known anything about baby anatomy, it's almost impossible to hit the back without also hitting the head.  When you baptize by immersion, you can't do the front of the head without risking having the baby's face in the water and inhailing some, or else you'd have to hold him upside down and risk dropping the baby.

I know the bishop there and the deacon ... from the Eparcy of Parma (Ohio).  Fr. Jenkins' chapel St. Therese of the child Jesus is about 5 minutes from there.
