When ordinations or consecrations are performed.

I ask because I have seen traditional ordinations and the bishop sits right in front of the tabernacle giving his back to it.

If the door is closed and the tabernacle candle is lit then there are hosts in the tabernacle.

In Pontifical Mass, the Blessed Sacrament is supposed to be removed from the tabernacle of the altar that the Mass is celebrated on. However there is nothing in the rubrics forbidding a priest/bishop to sit with his back to the the Blessed Sacrament.
