The original church in St. Marys, KS burned down decades ago, and for a long time there was a simmering movement to rebuild.

Now, things are taking shape. There is a website, an architect, plans drawn up, and an official fundraiser started to being the long work of creating a church the size of a cathedral for the traditional Catholics of St. Marys, KS.

I encourage everyone to contribute to this project, insofar as they are able.

And no, I won't be shutting down CathInfo if members fail to donate $10,000 by the end of the year, like some OTHER message boards out there >nudge, nudge<

So, on the verge of economic and societal collapse, despite the fact that they are presently able to have Mass there somehow (and have for years), they want to sink TONS of money into a new cathedral? Pardon me if I do not see the sense in such a move at this time.
