On 30 May the French commemorate the Feast of their Patroness, St. Joan of Arc, the valiant maiden that showed to the world that humility and prayerful abandonment to Divine Providence are more powerful than any army or any earthly king.

For those devoted to this courageous Virgin, I have attached the Latin-English text of the Day Hours of her Proper Office, which I found in a Supplement for an edition of the Day Hours of the Roman Breviary published by Desclée & Co. at Tournai, Belgium, in 1956.

For the Francophone members of this forum, I have attached the text of the Day Hours of St. Joan of Arc found in a French-Latin edition of the Monastic Diurnal, published at Paris in 1943.

I'm not French either, but the heroic virtues of this valiant young maiden edifies Catholics of all nations.

Her's was a true patriotism, contextualized by zeal first for God's glory and then by loyalty and fraternal charity. It's an example for us all.
