  • The priest talked about receiving Communion at liturgy today and how online is not as good for that reason. He also asked if I wanted to receive when I was assisting him with the cruet to pore into the chalice when when he receives the rest of the Sacred Species. I also saw him look at me when he was talking to a younger girl at the parish about Communion probably cause he notices how I don't receive. Should I talk to him in person about how I have some scruples about my baptism or should I talk to him in person? This now worries me a bit more since Proverbs says the sacrifices of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord so I haven't been praying as much due to possibly being in actual mortal sin too since I haven't confessed since August.

Do you know of any good traditionalist priests in the metro Detroit area? I know you live in Michigan too.

  • Whatever you do don't stop praying.  Make the act of perfect contrition, but know that even if your prayers are used to give you the grace to make a good confession, they are not in vain.

Certainly, there is an SSPX (St. Anne's) right in Livonia, on 5 mile rd west of Newburgh.

    Wow.. Michigan has Catholic roots.

Here's Traditio's Directory link: Traditio Link

The State has (34) TLM sites, of varying persuasions.

"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

  • The CMRI priest would be a good one to contact concerning baptismal validity.  The SSPX will dismiss out of hand any doubt in the case of NO baptisms, barring hard evidence.  While I have little experience with Eastern Rites, their theological and philosophical perspective is pretty different from the West, and they likely do not focus so much on validity/invalidity, matter/form/intention, etc.  I recommend a sedevacantist Roman Rite priest, as they will look at the NO baptism critically and with the same set of guiding principals with which you are likely familiar.

So...why are you asking about trad priests?  Your opening post clearly indicates that you are serving Mass but not receiving communion.  You are confusing.

I concur with Username.  Call Fr. Radecki about your situation.  Better yet, go to St. Joseph's Church in town and speak with him in person to discuss your concerns.

  • Yes, you need to get with a Traditional priest you trust, and get your spiritual life/scruples sorted out. You need to have your spiritual house in order, to be able to withstand the barrage of attacks from the modern world.

You need grace and strength from the Sacraments, especially the Font of Grace itself, Holy Communion.

Father Radecki is amazing!  I was going to suggest him but username beat me to it.  I wish he was half an hour from us...
Definitely look him up if you can!  My husband converted through the CMRI and it was the thing that could have happened to him.  😊
    Praying for you!
