  •  So the Mayor of Cocody, a district in Abidjan/ Ivory Coast, Jean-Marc Yace, personally financed this construction of a 79 foot tall tower. It was blessed October 7, 2023. From what I can see it is a round Tower about 8' in diameter. It is in a very prominent intersection of avenues. A very beautiful statue of Our Lady of Cocody is at the very top, holding the Child Jesus. I realize this is Novus Ordo, but you cannot help but hope there will be more Catholic culture and devotion in this world of sin...Christmas is hope, in the concrete.

If possible, please give us more background on Our Lady of Cocody?

Is there a relationship with Our Lady of Africa?

    Our Lady of Africa

April 30: Our Lady of Africa, Algiers (1876)
In our day we think of North Africa as being dominated by Islam, but in the 2nd century AD the region was part of the Roman Empire, and in the 3rd century, under the Emperor Constantine, it began to become Christian. This was once the land of Saint Augustine, and remained Christian until the Arab invasions in later centuries. The French re-established themselves early in the 19th century.
There was, of course, no church in Algiers when the first bishop arrived, and the local population was hostile to the French. As he had no money to build a church, Bishop Dupuch went back to France to appeal for any assistance. The Sodality of Our Lady in Lyon had a bronze statue of the Immaculate Conception that they offered to the bishop with the understanding that she would be the Protectress of both the Mohammedans and the natives. It was brought from France in 1840 and was for long entrusted to the Cistercian monks of Staueli; then Cardinal Lavigiers, founder of the White Sisters, enshrined it in the new basilica at Algiers, where in 1876 the image was crowned.

    Our Lady of Africa

The Basilica of Our Lady of Africa, or Notre Dame d’Afrique, was eventually built, and is situated on a height overlooking the Bay of Algiers. It took fourteen years to construct in an attractive Neo-Byzantine style, and was consecrated in the year 1872.
The statue donated by the sodality became known as Our Lady of Africa, and the statue venerated in Algiers today is this same bronze image, very dark in color, but with European features. Pilgrims began to come to venerate the image where the lame, the blind, and the crippled were miraculously healed, and sailors came also to beg for protection of their long and perilous voyages. The walls of the basilica are now covered with votive offerings testifying to the assistance the faithful had received from the Mother of Mercy.
At this and other North African shrines the veneration given to Mary by Mohammedans is very marked. The full name of Cardinal Lavigiers’ congregation of White Sisters is Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa. There is an indulgenced prayer to Mary under that title for the conversion of the Africans on the apse: Notre Dame d’Afrique priez pour nous et pour les Musulmans (Our Lady of Africa, pray for us and for the Muslims.) There is a proper feast commemorated for the crowning of the Algiers statue on April 30.

Lastly, do you know anything about Our Lady of Zeitoun?

I've been recently intrigued by this Marian apparition that was ignored by the Pope Paul VI.

The first sighting of Our Lady of Zeitoun occurred in April 1968.

This was about 10 months after the Israeli's attempted to secretly sink the USS Liberty in a fαℓѕє fℓαg, to blame the Egyptians, providing the Jєω President, Lyndon Johnson an excuse to nuke Egypt.

I am making a connection between Our Lady of Zeitoun and the USS Liberty because by every maritime analysis, the ship should have sunk after it was torpedoed by the Israeli Navy.  The captain of the USS Liberty exclaimed the ship's failure to sink was a miracle.

The only Catholic connection I was able to trace, was at the time of the 2 hour attack, a Catholic seaman was praying the Holy Rosary in the ship's mess (hall).

USS Liberty still afloat after her hull was penetrated on both sides by a torpedo explosion.

"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

  • Looks very similar to Our Lady of Grace.  Who would have thought we’d see the day where there’s more faith left in Africa than in Europe and America combined?  Some of these countries have made sodomy illegal also.

  • The "Our Lady of Zeitoun" took place at a Coptic church FWIW.

Another African apparition was Our Lady of Kibeho. New Church approved. I've watched interviews with the principal seer who has been in religious life these many decades since. She seems credible.  The message is simple though, similar to Banneaux. There was a detailed prophecy of the Rwandan genocide against the Catholics by the Muslims that took place 3 years later. She appeared as Our Lady of Sorrows.

  • To begin, A Blessed Christmas to All at Cathinfo.!
I did a bit more research about Our Lady of Cocody, Adbidjan, IVORY Coast.
Here are some relevant dates etc.
2018  Jean Marc Yace, elected Mayor of Cocody. He acknowledged that this was only possible because of God's power.
2019 Oct 26  The District of Cocody in Adbidjan was consecrated to the "August Mother of God". It was also a Saturday, traditionally Our Lady's day.
2021    Initially the completion date, but the project of building a Tower was continually delayed
2023 August  The statue that was proposed and ordered to be made in Italy is NOT the one that stands on the Tower. Somehow, another statue was shipped, providentially, leaving a sea port of Italy, on , you guessed it!, August 15....Feast of the Assumption!
2023 Sept 2 The statue arrives in Adbidjan
2023 Sept    Jean Marc Yace reelected
2023 Oct 7   Consecration and Inauguration of the Statue "Our Lady of Cocody", located in the Catholic Parish of St. John*. October 7th, Feast of the Holy Rosary, was also on a Saturday.

'Remember, O Our Lady of Cocody, Virgin with a Heart of Gold, that You possess Jesus, the Eternal Treasure, and Source of life.
Remember also that the inhabitants of this District have been consecrated to You. Intercede for them and for all who will come to your feet, and who will accept to fix their gaze on You, together with St. John's * gaze, the beloved Apostle, who took You to his abode'.
Paraphrased. Prayer of Mayor and his wife

Another prayer from Faceboo!= He invites people to pray to the Virgin...because She is the Auxiliatrix, the Refuge and Defender who gives the Victory to all who hope in Her help.
And: She is the Queen of Our hearts and Guardian of Cocody

The consecrating Cardinal said that the tall Tower is a symbol of a bridge leading to heaven, so Our Lady can offer the pilgrims' prayers to God the Father in Heaven.

    Joining Heaven and Earth.
"Tower of IVORY, Pray for us"! This idea that Our Lady's role is likened to a channel, Mediatrix of all graces etc. is remarkably evident at Christmas, "Par Excellence" !
    Joyeux Noel !

  • About these "apparitions " in Zeitoun, Egypt:
I have never heard about this. For sure these apparitions are mysterious. I hold Urban VIII 's bull, Sanctissimus Dominus Noster, March 13, 1625.
"One read in part: "In obedience to the decrees of Urban the Eighth, I declare that I have no intention of attributing any other than a purely human authority to the miracles, revelations, favors, and particular cases recorded in this book." Wikipedia
Pope Paul VI sent two prelates to investigate. They reported favorably on the "apparitions", miracles, to the Pope. But the Catholic Church has no jurisdiction over schismatic churches, in this case Coptic. There was silence from Rome. It is always good to note that these matters normally fall under the local ordinary anyways, the bishop, not to a pope.

Better to listen to Approved Apparitions.

This hour long audio will change your life. La Salette Apparition was silenced, for the  Love of $$, but finally it is out in the open. Our Lady spoke about not having any more priests, priests who have the Faith!! Absence of priests...sound familiar??
    God Bless +

  • Sorry, the picture of Jean Marc Yace didn't upload. I'll try again.

By the way, Ivory Coast has the largest Catholic Basilica in the world.! Basilica of 'Our Lady of Peace'.
