  • Saint Alphonsus writes that it was revealed by a Jesuit superior that passed away and reappeared after death that Philip II, King of Spain, is in Heaven.

  • I remember reading about a saint who said that Phillip IV of Spain was only in Purgatory for about 5 days. He probably would have been there longer had not that saint prayed for him mitigated his stay. Needless to say, Phillip IV is in heaven also.

Well, not all saints are canonized, (or in other words, not recognized as exemplary souls who displayed heroic virtues). Also, miracles attained through their intercession are required after their death.

All in heaven are saints, but it's just that not all are officially recognized and upheld by the Catholic Church as examples to follow.

  • I see... So that means Philip II can indeed be called a saint.
