  • Whatever you do, don't give up prayer.
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

Thank you for answering my question, syncmaster.

The best thing for you is to go to a traditional priest and confess your sins. On that occasion you should discuss the original question with him.

The idea that prayer is meant to make you feel better is a deception. It is not the consolation of prayer that will help you.

If you want to change your sinful ways, Confession and prayer is how you will do it. Stop looking at your feelings and your neurosis, and think about how Jesus felt as He suffered for you in His Passion.

Pray Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me, a sinner. He will answe your prayer.

Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

If you are not in the state of grace, you need to look for a priest and confess your sins as soon as possible.

Sin causes the death of soul and separation from God. Perhaps it is the reason you are feeling such "dryness" when you pray.

    God bless you

True. Just as erroneous is the idea that we pray with the sole purpose of God granting us whatever we pray for at the moment we want it. Such ideas are short and easy ways of losing one's faith whenever we do not get what we want, because the premises are mistaken to begin with.

  • Jesus waited for Mary Magdelen.  Jesus told her family, when she is ready she will come.  She did!  And she was there at the Crucifixion at His feet, His Most Precious Blood.  There is Power in the Blood, The Precious Blood is in the Sacrament of Penance.

Please note that syncmaster said that he is interested in converting; I assume to the Catholic faith.  He cannot confess his sins to a priest until he is Catholic.

  • I recommend that you think in this way, many times when God wants to lead a soul to a greater holiness he will take away the consolations that he previously gave. Remember, we are to worship the God of consolations, not the consolations of God.
