    • I always try to encourage Neos to drop the RSV-CE for the Douay. Let's here list some of these deficiencies. Here's one:

    Job 7:1, RSV-CE:

    "Has not man a hard service upon earth,
    and are not his days like the days of a hireling?"

    Job 7:1, Douay-Rheims (Challoner):

    "The life of man upon earth is a warfare, and his days are like the days of a hireling."

    • Well, the RSV-CE is just a Protestant Bible with some Catholic edits. Sort of like the Novus Ordo. Okay, maybe it's not that bad. But it isn't much better. There was a time when we Catholics were instructed to treat Protestant Bibles with contempt, at least according to the Catechism of (Saint) Pius X.
