Would this make him a martyr?

I'm not sure. There's news that he was tortured and his intestines even burst open. But I wonder if he did better hadn't he resisted. But then again, I'd do the same if I was on his situation: die rather than be in the hands of my unjust captors.

I'll just continue praying for his soul and everyone please do so. :incense:

As a priest, his duty is to be the shepherd of the flock and to save the souls of his sheep from the hell hounds. He cant administer the Sacraments to anyone if he's dead can he? As a priest his duty is to try to escape so that he may continue to guide the faithful on the path to heaven. If it is the will of God that we be martyred then He will bring us to that Calvary. However thats Gods job to bring us there, its our job to try and escape the claws of the dragon so that we may continue to witness to the captive souls. Gods will was done.
