Fr MacDonald sent out a group email this evening. Unbelievably, she will not have a traditional Requiem Mass:

Subject: Angela Martello RIP

Dear Faithful,

Angela Martello, aka Nadir, died unexpectedly, at 9:00pm, yesterday, Wednesday, at Mareeba Hospital. It is quite a shock as I spoke to her on the 4th and she was talking about making a few modifications to the house so that she could go home. She was in Rehab in Mareeba after having been three weeks in another hospital.

Her son, Fr. Rueben Martello, is taking care of the funeral, which will be NO, and probably on the 24th.

Some of you may know her personally or from Cathinfo where she writes as Nadir, her husband's name.

Please pray for her. And for Nadir as this will be a great loss for him.

May she rest in peace.
Fr. MacDonald

Thanks PV for the update, we all appreciate it very much!
As for the NOM, that's terrible to say the least and lets hope something happens to stop it, but hopefully her trad sons will intervene spiritually at least and have many requiems said for her. And there's the Gregorian Masses you mentioned in the other thread.

She had a fall on August 12 as per the other thread, and went to the local hospital where she was in rehab and improving. A friend made contact to see if she needed a priest but she reported that she was okay and on the mend - she lived a couple of thousand kilometres away from a traditional priest, otherwise the visit would have been a matter of course... she must have deteriorated suddenly.
Yes, I knew what had happened beforehand, but I wondered what happened to cause such a sudden death (when all seemed to be improving).  I wonder if she had another fall or there were unseen complications with the pelvic fracture.

Poor Angela...  That is so sad about her funeral being in the novus ordo after all the time and effort she spent for tradition.  😣🙏

Angela had told us recently of prior chronic circulatory problems. Generally, when there's a major injury such as happened last month, an already weakened cardiovascular system is stressed further due to the injury, and there's gradual exhaustion. Maybe that happened, maybe not. Yet this reminds us that we know neither the day nor the hour. Prayers for her and her family.:pray::pray:

From Nadir's post last month, (re an earlier hospitalization, not this last one) to put a face to the name:
