    • It was only a few days ago I was thinking of folks here and saying a prayer, and here I find you my friends in Christ have been doing the same.

    Thank you very much for the prayers and well wishes.

    I am doing fine here, my condition has fairly stabilized, there's been very little further decline over time and I am managing with it rather well all things considered. 

    My mother has become more forgetful these days but so far no bad diagnosis from the doctors or trouble in the MRIs very thankfully. I am praying every day for her memory and health.

    The Lord is gracious! May God keep you and help you in all. Thank you for remembering me.

    I sure hope my prayers are of some use though I fear not as much as I wish they were as I pray very poorly, Kyrie eleison.

    I hope everyone is doing as well as they can be. It really is true that sickness, health, everything is from the hand of God, all we can do is trust in Him and stay as close as we can. Kyrie eleison. :pray:

    • In a happier matter… photography. I picked up a Sony RX100 M7 that slips into my shirt pocket and has most of the functionality of 25 pounds on Nikon gear. There's always a trade-off. The Nikon lenses are faster (f 2.8) than the Sony (f 4.5) at 200mm—important to me because my main niche is low-light urban compositions.

    You may be amused at a couple of simple snapshots that I took at a huge shopping mall in Chiang Mai… "BMW" and "lime ear" elephant sculptures that were commissioned for last January's Elephant Festival.  As I took the photo a lady behind me said, "I've been sitting here for an hour and you seem to be the first person to take an interest in the elephant statues." She was from Montana and spending 2 months doing wild elephant research. Go figure.

    They are not my artsy-fartsy low-light niche, but just whimsical snapshots.  OK I also uploaded a quasi-artsy-fartsy elephant sculpture that was perched on the pool of a rooftop bar.

    Taken any cloud formation photos lately?

    • It must be handy indeed, if I traveled much I would definitely appreciate something so easy to carry around. Those elephants make me think there are always sights in the world I would never have imagined, I could only know about by seeing them!

    Yes I am still studying the clouds, it is one of my happiest pastimes. I shall have to post a few more cloud photos. :)

    I remember quite enjoying sharing the cloud studies earlier.. it's hard for me to believe that it was in fact a few years ago.. Time sure is accelerating the longer I live. Where did it go?

    • I recently learned about another form of photography which I have become quite taken with, though I do not have quite enough trees on the property, it shall make me go outdoors a little further I think.

    It is of a subject called by the Japanese term 'komorebi'. Komorebi is I have been told the term for the dappling or filtering of the light of the sun through the moving leaves of the trees. I am not sure it can be translated perfectly. It really is a great photography subject, and great to simply enjoy while outdoors and looking up along with the clouds.

    As I am just a beginner and this is one of my first photos of the subject, I cannot compare to the photos of experienced photographers but here is what I have to begin, Deo gratias et Mariae semper Virgini.
