Recommended Traditional Catholic books?

  • Anyone know of any Traditional Catholic books they would recommend? I've read quite a few of them since I converted to Traditional Catholicism a little over two years ago, though I'd like to know of a few more if possible.

By the way, here are some I have read that I would recommend:

"The Mass of All Time" -Archbishop LeFebvre/SSPX
"Ascent of Mt. Carmel" -St. John of the Cross
"The Roman Rite Destroyed" -Michael Davies? (I think, it's been a while since I've read it)
"Thunder of Justice" (forgot who wrote it)
"The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass" -Fr. Muller

I know I've read more but that's all I can think of for now. I also look forward to reading Hugh Atkins' "ѕуηαgσgυє Rising" whenever it comes out.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • A book that I highly recommend for Lent is "Cross and Crown" by Fr. Mader.  It's divided into 41 little essays that take about 10-15 minutes to read, so you have one for each day of Lent plus one extra.  It is truly a wonderful, inspired & inspiring book.  Fr. Mader was called "The Thunder of the Holy Ghost'.

Another excellent one for Lent or actually for any time is "The Imitation of Christ" by Thomas a Kempis.
"I will lead her into solitude and there I will speak to her heart.  Osee 2:14

Excellent indeed! Every Catholic should read that celebrated tome.

The Sinner's Guide by Venerable Luis de Granada is also excellent for Lent.

Here is where you can find it: https://www.catholicbooksellers.com/merchantmanager/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=254

In fact, you can find other awesome and salutary books there too at astounding prices:

  • Hobble and Thorn, thank you both for recommending "The Imitation of Christ". I have just begun reading it, and it's great! I'm going to look into "Cross and Crown" and "The Sinner's Guide" soon.

  • Two more I would recommend:

"Uniformity with God's Will" -St. Alsphonsus Ligouri
    "Divine Intimacy" -Fr. Gabriel

  • I'd like to bump this thread and first of all say thank you to everyone who posted in this thread for the books they recommended.

I'd now like to recommend a few more.

St. John Chrysostom's "Eight Homilies Against the Jєωs" is a must-read for any Catholic who wants the truth about the Jєωs. A very powerful book and a great read. I actually have just recently begun reading it and still have a little ways to go, but so far I am thoroughly enjoying it. You can read all eight homilies here:

    http://holywar.org/txt/chrysostom.html

Another good one is "ѕуηαgσgυє Rising" by Hugh Akins.

    http://www.catholicactionresourcecenter.com/ѕуηαgσgυєrising.htm

I also recently began reading St. Louis de Montfort's "True Devotion to Mary" and "The Secret of the Rosary" (thanks to Hobbles for recommending the latter one). Both are must-reads for Catholics.

Two good works from St. Alphonsus Ligouri are "Twelve Steps to Holiness and Salvation" and "The Glories of Mary". I'd definitely recommend those.

Finally, I think it is convenient today, in honor of his Feast Day, to recommend St. Francis De Sales' book "Introduction to the Devout Life".

    God Bless.
