Today is Pentecost Sunday and I cannot assist at Holy Mass due to family caregiving needs which arose earlier today. I went to confession and received communion last Sunday. Would it suffice, for the "public" part of it, for me to go out onto my patio this evening, in the open air, and recite the prayer, and if I am worthy of a plenary indulgence, I might receive it? (Prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father, that's a no-brainer, and that part doesn't have to be "public".)
Or might it be too loosey-goosey, conservative-Novus-Ordo-ish, to say "I am legitimately impeded from the 'public' aspect of it, so uniting my mind and heart with the Universal Church, even in solitude, will suffice for the 'public' part"?
Someone please let me know sometime today, if you'd be so kind. Thanks in advance.
