  • o.k.... just a very little research...but it seems to me the changes are prayers reverted to the pre... liturgy.

one persons comments (my interpretation had a "tizzy fit" over having to say
"through my fault, through my own fault" and that the church was going backwards.

frankly I find the whole thing now insulting my intelligence....
do they really think this will placate people like us who have "a whole picture" issue of the NO mass?

  • Stay away from the Novus Ordo even after the beginning of Advent.  The Novus Ordo establishment is trying to draw traditional Catholics into its clutches with all this and they think it will not alienate their current prey.

Those who leave the Novus Ordo for anything other than tradition have no faith anyway.  Some may leave the Novus Ordo for tradition as they hear the complaints this new and improved translation engenders.  A very small number of traditional Catholics may be fooled into returning to the Novus Ordo.  The majority will simply go along in their blindness.

  • Actually, they are trying to correct the horendous English translation so it matches what is already official in the Latin text. Most other languages don't have the translation problems that the English version ended up with.

If you want to believe its a trick, that's up to you.

I don't actually think it is a conscious conspiracy to do as I wrote above.  But the Novus Ordo is, by its very nature, a danger to souls.  The only reason the Vatican decreed the re-translation for the English compositions (the current texts don't even qualify as translations) is because of complaints from the neo-conservatives and neo-traditional Catholics still wading in the Novus Ordo soup.

The fact that the words of consecration were "mis-translated" in virtually every language on earth, however, is telling.

I've honestly not heard that other translations are being "corrected".  And, frankly, I have to take your word that "most other languages don't have the translation problems" that are in the English.  It seems that the Conciliar Church has crashed all over the world and not just in English language nations.  Since the vast majority of Catholics main contact with the Church is the weekly celebration of the Mass, clearly there was something about what the populace was hearing.

Hi! I don't believe it is a trick at all.  A trick is to fool...placate is to appease complaints. what i do not understand. is why this has taken approximately 44 years to "correct".

and imho it is causing discord already to those who don't want it.. so the purpose is defeated as much as when the liturgy was changed to begin with

and to reiterate..it doesn't not change the fact that the liturgy in NO is not the pre Vaticanll liturgy.

what I have told other Catholics if I wanted to worship in Protestant fashion I would have stayed there.

    all typed in love.
