    LOL LOL

This was funny. Some hippie-sounding proJP2 video.

Oh my - the lyrics sting my ears!

    "A plume of smoke,
    rises in the air.
    Was it white or black?
    It's a bit unclear."

    Gah!

Actually that is correct. The Israel of the Bible is the Catholic Church. Spiritually, we [Catholics] are all the true Jєωs, not the Khazar rabbinical occultists masquerading as "Jєωs".

Here is another Youtube video (only the audio though)

    1. I agree completely that we are the true Israel.

    2. I love that recording of Pope Pius XII - he has a very angelic voice.

A Pope whose name I can't remember describes Catholics as the true Romans and I agree.

It seems as if there are those in this forum that think of themselves as Judaics and not Romans.

btw-- Semites are diff than Judaics.

  • Hebrews, Semites, Abrahamites, Israelites and Judaics are all different terms and should be understood as such.

  • Thanks for the links. Ah, the wonders of the Internet. I can watch footage that otherwise I never would have seen, learn from books and docuмents that I never would have had access to, buy and sell and trade, send articles and stories and pictures to friends and family, and best of all, communicate with roscoe...

Roscoe, who then, in your opinion, are the Jєωs?

  • Hi Elizabeth!

I ran across some of these videos a few years ago. It's truly incredible to be able to see these historic events on command, in our own homes. I am a life-long bookworm so for me it's like a dream come true to be able to see actual footage of these events and personalities that I have studied and read about so many times.

I wonder if in Heaven we (hopefully I'm not being too presumptious including myself with that pronoun) will be outside of Time as God is, and if we will be able to "time travel" and visit events and people of the past. I would love to go back and see Mozart conducting "Cosi fan Tutti" or Caravaggio painting one of his masterpieces. Or witness the Battle of Lepanto, or the construction of the great cathedrals.

More motivation to straighten up my act!

    Who cares?

I cares! That's why I asked! You keep talking about Judaics and now you bring in Abrahamites and Israelites and Semites and so forth and so I would like to know, where do the Jєωs fit in? I never hear you use the term "Jєωs." Who are the Jєωs?

When the soul separates from the body time ceases, because time is a consequence of matter - and the soul is immaterial. Having said that, all memories etc. from life vanish and the only knowledge one has is that which God infuses.  That is not to say that God won't infuse your physical memories into your soul - but as the beatific vision is perfection, it is most likely that God would only infuse that which is beneficial to it.

Jamie, please provide your source for this.

Okay - first I need to clarify what I said as it wasn't clear.  It is "sense" knowledge which we lose after life.  Here is a quote from St Thomas:

"Knowledge, therefore, acquired in the present life does not remain in the separated soul, as regards what belongs to the sensitive powers; but as regards what belongs to the intellect itself, it must remain[.]" S.T. I, q.89, art. 5

As an example of this, imagine there is a giant oak tree in your yard.  When you die, you don't remember "this oak tree" you remember "oak tree" - the concepts (aspects of the intellect) remain, but the things known in reality through the senses (this oak tree) do not remain.

Perhaps more simply put: we remember the essence of things learned.  We don't remember "the oak tree" we remember "oak treeness".

Caveat: I have sent a question to my logic professor to ensure that I am correct in this (it is based on the ST and one of our classes which mentioned this topic in passing).  Once I hear back I will reply to confirm or denounce.

As for the issue of time, I presume that isn't what you needed clarification on - it is pretty self-evident that time is a consequence of matter and that the beatific vision exists outside of time and matter.
