This is just too cool!

Just out of curiosity, is there any video of Pope Pius XII speaking?  If he were speaking in English, that would be even better.  I understand that he had some ability to speak at least simple English.

I have to think that he is the first pope who really "understood" the United States, in that he had been to New York City, and, if I'm not mistaken, once had a hot dog from a vendor's cart in Manhattan.  I heard that he relaxed some of the fasting rules for Americans in deference to the faster and more hectic pace of American life, and the prevalence of very strenuous physical labor.

(This said, Pius IX had something other than just a theoretical understanding of America, in that he had a correspondence with defeated Confederate President Jefferson Davis, and even made Davis a crown of thorns with his own hands.  Davis had asked to convert to Catholicism in his boyhood when studying under, I think, the Dominicans, and for some reason was refused.  Real good, guys, real good.  I'm glad I wasn't dissuaded from converting when I was attending Catholic school.)
