A kind of sad follow-up.  I just got a personal note from an old friend who as far as I know still attends Our Lady Immaculate, SSPX in the Chicago area. He said he attended the funeral Mass for Mr. Nelson held at the Institue of Christ the King's St. Mary Oratory in Rockford, Illinois, the city where Mr. Nelson lived almost his entire life.  He said it was a High Mass held at 10 A.M. with only "about 60 persons attending."

My friend also included a copy of the church bulletin and a Mass card.  There was no mention of Mr. Nelson or the funeral in the bulletin.  The Mass Intention as stated in the bulletin for the day of the funeral, August 22nd actually listed someone else.

All of this seems amazing when you consider what a heroic Catholic giant Thomas A. Nelson was.  We live in a very different world than the one that Mr. Nelson fought so valiantly to preserve.  For the last 5 and a half years of his life after suffering a bad stroke this historic Catholic hero lay bed-ridden and largely forgotten.

That "priest" is from ICK.  It's a shame that Mr Nelson did so much for Tradition and his funeral mass is done by a fake priest.  May God have mercy on his soul.

Yes, very said.  He had been a living legend among US Traditional Catholics, but appears to have gone down the path of Trad, Inc. ... who, by and large, have no use for him and his contribution.

As far as I know  -- Mathew can correct me if I'm wrong --  Tom stayed away from Mass attendance at the Institute in Rockford.  Instead, he would go to Father Frank Slupski's independent chapel and continued going there even after Slupski was consecrated a bishop.
