  • Prisad vare Jesus Kristus!
Have I understood this right.? If you ask a Priest for a Mass intention God will hear the prayer even if  the Priest himself is a great sinner but if you ask ask a priest for a prayer request God will not hear the prayer unless the Priest is not a great sinner?  :confused1: :confused1: :confused1:

  • The grace of the Mass does not depend on the holiness of the priest.

It is up to god what prayers He hears, and in what way.  It seems to me that the prayers of even a very sinful person, if sincere, couldn't do you any harm.  It does seem that the power of personal prayer is connected to the saintliness of the person praying.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

  • I don't think so.  That was really my point.  I don't see how there could ever be any harm in asking anyone to pray for you.

  • Good morning,

Prayers are an opening of the heart, mind, and soul to God.  I think that any true prayer, even from a person who sins greatly, would be heard by God.

Sometime, it seems to me, we underestimate the power of God.  God can, and does, work through many human beings and events in ways that we can never truly understand.

    Blessings on all.
