Private Hermit Seeks Hermitage with TLM

  • Peace be to you my brothers and sisters in Christ.

This is my first post here.  This is also my first public attempt and trying to find that which my soul seeks...

I am a private hermit in vows.  I have been a hermit for over 7 years.

As each year passes, with God's grace I am able to live closer and closer to that life that St. Antony and the desert hermits lived so many years ago.  However, I still own a car because I have to drive to receive the sacraments.  I drive 45 minutes one way to the nearest church that offers the Traditional Latin Mass; and 1 hour and 45 minutes to the nearest SSPX chapel for mass.

I have searched and searched and inquired about those existing hermitages in the United States (that I am aware of) and I have yet to find a hermitage that offers the Traditional Latin Mass.

Thus, I am now going public to see if anyone might be able to help?  Does anyone know of a hermitage--either in the United States, or in North America, or in the western hemisphere, or in the world that offers the Traditional Latin Mass?

If anyone does know of such a hermitage, then could you please contact me and give me whatever details and information you may have?

I don't know exactly how these things work.  I do have a GMail email address.  Should I provide that GMail email address here so that I can be contacted?  Or how is the best way for someone to contact me regarding my question and what I seek?

I thank God for you taking the time to read this; and I thank God for any grace that may flow to me in the form of a reply that may help me fulfill what I believe to be God's Will for my hermit vocation.

    Your brother in Christ,

    a soul that desires abandonment

  • I am not aware of such a hermitage for men anywhere in the world. I have heard of some sort of Carmelite hermitage being started in Ireland, but it is for women. God bless you in your search.

Please pray for the repose of my soul.

Saludos.

  • While searching for Sr Irene I also came across this:
    http://www.catholic-church.org/hermitage/index.html
and I suspect that the address on this page could well be the same Sr Irene.

Maybe you could talk to a traditional Catholic priest whom you trust about this?
If there is not already an order of hermits to be found, he could perhaps help you start one?
You shall be in my prayers.
Please keep us posted!

Peace be to you!  Out of nowhere, this exact seed seems to have been planted in my heart--starting last week in Holy Week!  And so before I go to him with this idea, I wanted to do my due diligence and see if any current existing hermitage offered the TLM.  Thank you for your prayers!  Please keep praying...

Nothing ever happens by mistake!   :)
I shall definitely keep you in my prayers.
Please keep us posted, especially if you start an order of hermits!  There may be other men we know who will become interested in joining you!

    He hablado.

  • If you prefer Spanish maybe this should have been placed in the Spanish Language section.

The original poster, Divine Will Hermit, has not used Spanish at all here.  That would be mine fault by responding to Urban Hermit in broken Spanish sometimes with a little help of google translate.  You make a good point.   :)
