Title: Priest found dead
Post by: Matthew on November 20, 2017, 07:30:18 AM
Priest found dead in residence-Spring Hill Florida (Fullham?)

Quote
Your Excellency,

They said the body was that of the priest (Fullham ?).  Maybe they have not reported it correctly but I thought you would want to know.

How very sad.  I was at SSPX seminary with Bishop/Father Fulham.  I knew him well.

He was even a member of CathInfo. Some of you know what user account he was under.

If I'm not mistaken, I recently "outed" his clerical status for the sake of full disclosure during an argument (I don't remember the topic).

Would you mind sharing that with me, at least by PM?  I would be interested to know if I had been arguing with him all these years.  I suspected that a number of these posters are/were priests or seminarians.  One of them clearly knew me from seminary; he PMed me little details that no one who wasn't there with me would have known ... like how I badly mispronounced the word "Chihuahua" at a table reading and was sternly corrected by Bishop Williamson as everyone laughed.  So I asked him, and he wouldn't disclose his identity.

Matthew,

From what/whom are you quoting?

Fulham was/claimed to be a bishop.  So the quoted material looks like it could be addressed to him?  There were priests at that chapel besides Fulham (though due to age he's probably the most "likely candidate").  So it isn't necessarily him.  Prayers for the departed in either event.

Well, their chapel website does not list any other priests in residence except him.  He appears to offer all their Sunday Masses.  But they couldn't have Mass this past Sunday because some priest was found dead.  So it seems very likely that it was Bishop Fulham.

My mistake then, I thought OLF had a few priests.  Must be thinking of someplace else.  Sounds like it was him, then.  Hopefully we can get a firmer confirmation soon.

Very sad.  I didn't agree with him very often but I enjoyed reading him here-- he had a personality and an entertaining way of putting things, that's for sure.  RIP.

One advantage of growing up in L.A., you know how to pronounce chihuahua.
.
Thanks for the news. I didn't know about Fr. Fulham, and now you're saying he was a bishop. God rest his soul.
.
I'd like to know what his username was here, as well. I hope I wasn't rude to him.

It was "curioustrad"

He was actually a bishop, keeping a low profile and pretty much keeping out of the fray.

Apparently Fr. Joseph Pfeiffer went to him (among others) seeking the Episcopate, but since Bp. Fulham attended the same seminary at the same time as Fr. Pfeiffer, he "knew him too well" to want to consecrate him.

My understanding is that he was consecrated by sedevacantists (Thuc line), but he has since dropped that position. Hence his recent apostolate as "Fr. Fulham".

So another defender of EENS has died.  According to my research at least 7 priests who upheld EENS have died within the last 25 years or so.  Now we are left with only one or two known defenders of EENS in the whole world.
I actually thought that Bp Fullham was going to become very important in the traditional world as he was the only Bishop who was non sedevacantist and upheld EENS, but I guess I was wrong.

God rest his soul, I will pray for him.

I met Father Fulham about 19 years ago when I was visiting Florida. It seems that his position had changed a few times over the years. This is what I know about him: He was ordained by Bishop Pivarunas and was consecrated a bishop through the Duarte-Costa line. He held the sede position until 1998, as a matter of fact it was around the time that I met him that he became an ardent anti-sede. I think that in recent years he became a bit less ardent in that position. In any event, may he Rest In Peace!

How fascinating! (EENS, Thuc line Bishop, ex-sede, anti-Pfeiffer, Cathinfo regular)

I wish I would have met him.

Let's keep in our regular prayers for the poor souls.

Ah, found the thread....  +Fulham, aka curioustrad, was kind, funny and intelligent. There was not a mean bone in his body.  Requiescat in Pace, dear friend.
