Thank you for the prayers everyone!  We finally just heard back from the shop...

So, we could definitely use more prayers. 

Looks serious by the look of things.
But somewhere in all the regulations that pertain to car manufacturers, if the Authorized Dealer cannot find the problem and repair your vehicle , then they HAVE TO PAY you the  fair market value of your Van. I know this is the case in Ontario, Canada. Are u feeling less stress now?

I was thinking about this more last night...  I wonder if it just pertains to new cars straight from the dealership?

We bought ours used from a 2nd hand dealer...but never had trouble with it until the car shop replaced the oil pump.  My husband thinks the car shop might have messed something up and has talked about possibly making a small claims case against them.  But first we would need the actual Honda place to verify damages.  😅

My husband got a call from the car shop.  He says that our Honda mechanic determined that our 2011 Honda Odyssey's spool valve failed and leaked oil all over the alternator, ruining it.

Apparently when that happens the engine can often catch on fire.  So...  We are blessed that we safely made it home twice when the car failed instead of it catching on fire.  I can't even imagine what that would have been like with all the kids...  Someone could have been seriously hurt...

Thankfully, the car is fixable and it wasn't computer related.  A family member also offered to cover 4/5 of the costs of the repairs.  Thank you so much everyone for all of the prayers! 

Please say some more prayers for us and our van...

The oil pump which we were worried about in the beginning has been replaced 2x by the shop has failed a third time...  They finally admitted that the last 2 times they got the oil pump from a 2nd hand manufacturer or some off brand group that makes them instead of getting the actual part from Honda.  They said that they ordered an oil pump from Honda this time and that we should not have this happen again...

But...  Our van has been at the shop for over a month!  They have not called us once to update us or even tell us what I have already mentioned.  We had to call up or show up in person to squeeze any information out of them. 

We were informed that the part should only take a few days to be shipped but last week when I stopped by they said that the part was still not there...  We are worried that they may have broken something else in the van and are trying to cover it up or aren't putting effort or time into actually fixing it since they have to fix it for free since they messed up.

Also...  The whole reason we had the oil pump replaced in the beginning (at their recommendation) was because they told us it might be going out eventually and it it did it could destroy the engine...  And now we have had the 2 oil pumps that THEY put in actually fail (not our original one).  So perhaps there IS engine damage now.

Getting to Mass has been difficult as we have had to borrow or rent cars...  We still have a loan on the van and are trying to figure out if we need to get a lawyer involved or go to a small claims court... 

Anyhow...  Please say some prayers for us and our van issue to be resolved.
