Mauricio (The first man injured) and Morgan (the one who tried to save Mauricio)
Previous Updates:
"Morgan's foot is attached and they'll wait one week before they do surgery and finalize it. They just want to make sure the foot will survive and blood flow will happen."
"Mauricio is in an out of consciousness and still seriously drugged. He's breathing on his own now though! What prompted them taking out his tubes was that he ripped them out Fri morning while half conscious. The doctors are now afraid of infection so prayers are still greatly appreciated. As for right now we know he'll be in the British Columbia hospital for at least 2.5 months and then transferred to the Alberta one for another few months."
"Morgan is now moved to the Alberta hospital. Amputation wasn't necessary and it seems they were able to re-attach everything so he shouldn't need another surgery. He also had surgery on his knee. It seems he won't be able to walk for 6 months."
Update on Sunday, Aug 10:
"The doctors have been slowly decreasing Mauricio's medications since Thurs so he can wake up: he was 3/4 conscious but started ripping out his tubes so they had to sedate him and tie him to his bed. At around 3pm, he regained consciousness again, this time fully, with just enough medication for pain management. He's fully aware now that he lost his arm and how bad his condition is, but has taken everything with good humour and jokes!! For now he doesn't want to see anyone, including family, except his wife. He's taking all with a fighter's spirit and his family is deeply grateful to everyone who has been storming heaven - this is certainly all a work of GRACE! Please continue to pray for him as when he sleeps he becomes delirious and is reliving the accident. The doctors will up his medication tonight in homes of helping him through this extremely difficult time."
Thank you so much for sharing this! 🤗
May God bless these men and give them strength during this heavy cross!
