Here are some prayers for those dying, in their agony, and for those recently deceased.

Some people at our chapel have started saying the  Prayers for the Dying in their Agony daily for someone who has no one to pray for them.   Wonderful way to make friends in eternity.

We pray for the souls in purgatory to help get them out but we forget to pray to help souls get in, rather than going to hell.

Great spiritual act of mercy

It is a pious tradition among the Dominicans to say the entire Psalter (all 150 psalms) when anyone in the Order or parish dies. It is recommended to say or chant the Psalter as soon as possible beseeching Christ to have mercy on the recently departed soul.
