Please pray for a devout traditional Catholic lady we know who has 5 young children and who is scheduled to have brain surgery on Monday, August 12th, to remove a tumor which is putting pressure on her eyes and making her go blind.

She told me that she is scheduled to be there at 5:30 am tomorrow though the surgery itself will likely start awhile after that.

I just received a text saying that at 8:10 that the doctors took her back to the operating room.
Please keep praying

I just got a text saying that the doctors just began the brain surgery. Apparently there was a lot of prep work before they were able to begin.

My friend's sister just messaged me saying that so far the procedure is going smoothly and everything is going as planned.
Apparently the surgery can take 4-6 hours. I had no idea they could take that long. 😇🙏

She just got out of surgery and we are told that it went great!!! 🥰

I just got this message from my friend's sister:
"I just got off the phone with my parents!!
The doctor said he was able to actually get more of the tumor than originally thought! When she woke up she was able to see just fine out of her good eye. She still won't regain sight from the bad eye but, the doctors were very encouraged with how much of the tumor was removed!! She was also talking to my parents and her husband after the surgery. Her husband told them she dozed throughout the night. She was (as planned) in the icu overnight for the doctors to really keep an eye on everything ❤️ My parents will be going back to the hospital in a bit and getting some more info."

She had a follow-up mri this afternoon. They get results back tomorrow. :pray:

UPDATE:
"They got SO much of the tumor. Way more than the surgeon anticipated. So basically what is left is in my optic canal on the left side. So I'll likely follow up with some radiation eventually there. But it's further away from important stuff. The continuing prayer is that my left eye stays healthy and I won't need surgery down the road from that because they had to cut the nerve."
She is supposed to go home today! Thank you SO MUCH for all of the prayers!

Please say some extra prayers for my friend...
Though surgery went well, managing the pain, anxiety, and recovery of her surgery and not being able to do as much at home is really hard on her. 🙏
