  • It was only after Adam's fall that woman was placed under her husband's power.
    Genesis 3, 16:  ......and thou [Eve] shalt be under thy husband's power.

    Note too that Adam blamed Eve for his fall, just as perhaps St. Augustine may be blaming his mistress.

  • These men were great saints and doctors. We are laypeople living in, and formed by an age of godless modernism and feminism. None of us can hold a candle to these men (though we should be lighting many to them).

    Better, then, to keep a pious silence on this subject than to risk blaspheming God in His holy saints.
