  • Hi Everyone,

A couple hours ago I received word that my grandfather's heart aneurysm is leaking, and he is in pain and will die soon. I am travelling to see him. If you could say a prayer for his conversion, my family's consolation, and my determination and ability to speak of the Church when I see him, I would be thankful.

    Graham

  • "Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

God be with you and your grandpa, Graham. I'll say a rosary with your intentions.

Most merciful and immaculate heart of Mary, pray for him at the hour of his death.

Religion clean and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation: and to keep one's self unspotted from this world.
    ~James 1:27

  • He died today, 30 minutes after I arrived. Maybe he was waiting for me.

Well, it's out of my hands now.

If possible, bring this photo to his bedside.

Blessed Anne de Guigne is the patron of deathbed conversions.

    Background is in this biography.

"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

    Yes, providence!

A blessing you could be with him.

    Deo gratias!
