Title: Prayers for Boys and Young Men

Some recent discussion regarding the vexations and temptation that young men are facing in the present age have reminded me of a rare book, Lord God: A Book of Prayers for Boys and Young Men authored by Dom Hubert Van Zeller (London: Burns Oates & Washbourne, Ltd., 1936).

This prayerbook is unlike any other I have encountered. The devotions for Confession alone I think would help some of the young men who have made queries of a moral nature.

Attached are these devotions, written in with a simplicity and earnestness that is as edifying as it is charming. Even the us elders may benefit from such devout compositions.

"Boys will be boys." And the aforementioned prayerbook does indeed consider every aspect of a boy's life, in which sports and play are paramount.

"Boys will be boys." And paternal chastisement is quite a part of a boy's life (or at least it should be).
