  • Has anyone heard of when his Requiem Mass will be and who will be offering it?

  • I made up a little bit of doggerel one time, adapted from a WWII slogan, "when the little yellow bellies meet the Dolans and the Kellys".

My father liked Bishop Dolan and received communion from him one time when we visited SGG during an overnight stay in Cincinnati.  He also read an SSPV pamphlet I had lying by the fireplace and was convinced by it.  He was basically a sedevacantist (I'm not) but saw no point in parsing or articulating reasons for it.  Theological hair-splitting wasn't his thing.

    Requiescant in pace.

I didn't know he had been battling cancer.  So you have Father Cekada and now Bishop Kelly succuмb to cancer.  Didn't Father Collins also die of cancer?  Could there be something they were all exposed to?

There does seem to be a "changing of the guard" here, where that first generation of Traditional priest, who were alive as Vatican II first began to be implemented, are beginning to pass away.  That's one reason for the shift taking place in neo-SSPX, where we have more and more cradle Trads who really don't understand what happened at Vatican II.
Father Collins died of pancreatic cancer.

Father Cekada had bladder cancer, which he recovered from, but then had fragile health ever after that, had a few mini strokes, and eventually a (I think) relapse of the bladder cancer.

Bishop Kelly also had cancer (I'm not sure which kind) but also had multiple other health issues. He had been sick with various things for at least a couple decades. I distinctly remember being told while accompanying a CSPV Priest to a sick call back in 2009 that Bishop Kelly was not doing well even at that time.

I too have been hearing reports of Father/Bishop Kelly's ill health for nearly 20 years now, mostly talk of some kind of heart condition.

I served mass for him for a while when he was only a new priest right out of Econe, may he rest in peace.

Yes, he was one of the first ordained overall, because they appear to have given him credit for prior seminary training.
