My grand niece in utero, supposedly had a calcification in her heart on ultrasound. This was supposed to be indicative of Down's Syndrome, and the OB informed the parents of this. As a pagan, the father wanted to abort because of this information.
After scouring the internet we found that this calcification was only ONE of the EIGHT markers of potential Down's, and even with ALL of the marker's,it is less than a 8- 20% risk. It certainly seems, that the OB's legal 'risk" is much less if a child with a minor insignificant marker is aborted, than take the slim "chance" that they might be sued if the child is not "perfect." ( yes parent's sue doctors for genetically disabled children).
Needless to say that this little girl was born perfect, smart and at 5 years old, very much "in charge". What a blessing she is.
(To me, a Down's child is a blessing too, but the world is aborting them into extinction- apparently they are aborting a lot of "normal " children as well in their quest to eradicate those sweet Down's babies.)The doctor's make people crazy with all of this stuff. It was much better in the past to trust God without all of this noise and distraction.
Laudislaus and Meg-fin are right- it is always exaggerated. I will pray to St Gerard and don't concern yourself with this stuff and concentrate on keeping calm and dealing with the pre-eclampsia. God bless you
