Request for Prayers

  • Folks

I would be extremely grateful for your prayers over the next couple of weeks, as I am facing a very difficult time.

I am about to begin an opiate withdrawal programme. Before anyone thinks that I am a drug addict, I will explain the circuмstances.

I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. EDS is a congenital connective tissue disorder that causes significant medical problems and disability. I have had 6 major spinal surgeries in recent years, have metal scaffolding holding my back and neck together, and use a wheelchair to get around outdoors. I have very severe chronic pain, which has been treated with high doses of opiates for many years. The meds are now becoming less effective, and as I am on the maximum dose per day I have to come off them before my doctors can start me on an alternative non-opiate treatment regime.

Because I have been on these meds at high doses for such a long time, coming off them completely is a long, difficult and very painful process. I know that I can do it. However, knowing that some good, decent traditional Catholics are praying for me in solidarity while I go through this would be of great help to me.

    God Bless

  • Lord have mercy.

O Most Holy Blessed Virgin Mary, come to the aid of Aidrean, who is in such great need. Heal his body and his soul, granting him that peace from above that thy Son and our God can only give.
    Lord have mercy.

Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary, that never was it known in any age, that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.  Amen.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.
