Please pray for me. I sinfully feel this is a death sentence. I was prepared for diabetes because of a weight change (I'm 5'6, 100lbs, down 30 lbs from a healthy norm) and sudden vision blurriness (from 20/20 to 4-digit near-sightedness in a month), but instead my doc said blood tests revealed a hyper-active thyroid (Graves disease) that will apparently kill me if I don't have radiation iodine or complete thyroid removal. Soon. (And if I have the radiation stuff, I'm facing lifelong tests out-of-town that we simply can't afford.) 24 hrs ago, I didn't know I had a thyroid.

Of course I called the priest first thing this morning (and just used "hyperactive thyroid", since "graves" disease sounds like a self-fulfilling prophecy), but I see nothing good in this. So pray first for my faith in seeing the good in this sudden whammy, and then for a functioning thyroid. (I believe in radical miracles! They've happened before!)
