  • Thank you so much for the prayers. Diane is intubated and in serious condition. I'm about 250 miles away and have not been able to be with her in person but her husband has been able to be with her.
A very beautiful and edifying thing happened that I must tell you about. I e-mailed the Priest that serves the chapel that I attend not knowing if he would be able to respond as he is traveling. About an hour later he called to let me know that he had contacted a Priest, who I've never met, that is about 40 miles from the hospital. The Priest was ready and willing to head to the hospital immediately even though it was already 11:00 PM. We called the hospital and they said that my sister was stable enough that she would be OK for the night and that they didn't really want visitors until the next day. The Priest said, "I'll keep my phone by my bed call me at any time if things change." After saying Mass the next morning he was at the hospital as soon as visiting hours started.
For some background my sister is not a practicing Catholic. I don't think that she has ever hated the Faith, but she just has never taken it seriously.
Before the hospital staff let him in they asked my sister if she wanted to see the Priest. Her response was a "thumbs up". She was responsive enough that he was able to give her Absolution, but he also enrolled her in the Brown Scapular and blessed a Green Scapular for her as well!
I can't express my gratitude enough to God and also to you for all the prayers that made this possible. I ask, if you would be so kind, to continue to pray for Diane that she will make the most of these Graces and, whether soon or far off, that she will die a truly happy death.
    Thank you again. Emile

A short time ago I received word that her condition is deteriorating and the hospital will allow us to see her tomorrow morning.
God is so good, this is such a heartwarming post.

  • If your able to, get her a miraculous medal to say " oh Mary conceived without sin , pray for those who have recourse to thee" - our lady promisee GREAT GRACES for those who say it.

Wonderful you can get her a scapular

Theres also a powerful prayer for the dying jn the pieta book, it was prayed over a pope who sinned a lot and they saw he went to heaven

It's starts with .... Lord Jesus Christ! Thou son of God and son of the virgin Mary, God and man! Thou who in fear sweated .....

It's powerful , if you keep saying it, I will say it for her

  • Just got a call. My sister has taken a bad turn. Heading to the hospital now, about 6 hours away. Prayers needed and appreciated.

  • I am pleased to have some good news to share about Diane. She went from critical, near death, condition (the hospital rescinded their visitor restrictions for her and pretty much told us to make funeral plans) to being stable, unsedated, and well enough to be transported back to the rehab hospital where she has been staying, all in a week!

I thank you all again for your kind prayers and encouragement. Onward with the battle.
    Emile
