  • Anybody got a Latin prayer for the dying that they can post here, please? (In Latin only)
We conclude logically that religion can give an efficacious and truly realistic answer to the great modern problems only if it is a religion that is profoundly lived, not simply a superficial and cheap religion made up of some vocal prayers and some ceremonies...

  • Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

  • De profundis clamavi ad te, Domine;
Domine, exaudi vocem meam. Fiant aures tuæ intendentes
     in vocem deprecationis meæ.
Si iniquitates observaveris, Domine, Domine, quis sustinebit?
Quia apud te propitiatio est; et propter legem tuam sustinui te, Domine.
Sustinuit anima mea in verbo ejus:
     Speravit anima mea in Domino.
A custodia matutina usque ad noctem, speret Israël in Domino.
Quia apud Dominum misericordia, et copiosa apud eum redemptio.
Et ipse redimet Israël ex omnibus iniquitatibus ejus.

  • The three prayers for the dying that are in the old Rituale Romanum would be the best.
They are also in the 1961 Parish Ritual.

I'm sorry I don't know how to copy and paste them here.  If anyone does, perhaps they could post them.
These are the actual prayers the priest prays before Extreme Unction.

Many are familiar with them from the Pieta Prayerbook, albeit this book omits the Pater and Ave prior to each prayer.

"Let God arise, and let His enemies be scattered: and them that hate Him flee from before His Holy Face"  Psalm 67:2[/b]
