    I am ready, O my God, to accept with complete indifference from Thy hands and in the way that may be most pleasing to Thee, health or sickness, riches or poverty, honor or dishonor, a long or a short life, friendship or hatred, always choosing only that which is in keeping with Thy glory. And if Thou art so good as to call me to imitate Thee more closely and intimately in poverty, in shame, and in suffering, here I am, ready and willing, dear Jesus.
