A boy named Dylan was walking around after the horrific storm we had last Friday night. A power line struck him and he is in a coma.
I spoke with another Mom yesterday, her son was driving and a branch slammed through her son's windshield, impaling the seat, but it missed her boy.
The storm blasted out of nowhere. There was no hint of its arrival. There were huge red and orange fireballs and 80 MPH straight-line winds. Naturally the kids would have been curious. Dylan could have been any of our boys looking to go rehash the dramatic storm with his buddies in person, because the power was out everywhere. Ours were inside because they had friends over, but Moms were calling frantically to see if their kids were here. Ours were inside only because they were [stupidly] expecting more to arrive.
Please offer a prayer for Dylan and his family, who are likely convulsing with grief and guilt for this tragedy. I pray Dylan survives the coma and that the family is no coerced into premature organ donation or some such.
St. Aloysius, Patron of Youth, pray for us.
