Father Carley's obituary:

I'm not sure who put this together, but it's a bit weak.  I'll try to post more information from a little booklet that was put together for the anniversary of his ordination not too long ago, which had much more detail and some pictures.

Father Carley was probably the last of the "old guard". those independent priests who were ordained prior to Vatican II and loosely organized in the ORCM all those years ago.

Father died on the Feast of St. Joseph, Patron Saint of the Dying, and will have his Funeral Mass on the Feast of the Annunciation (the same day Archbishop Lefebvre died 35 years ago now).

Now, I feel that his passing is even more significant, representing the end of an era ... just as we appear to be closing in on some monumental changes, as they appear to be on the verge of collapsing the economy, and probably throwing the entire world into chaos, with war and cινιℓ ωαr.

Leading up to his final days, he suffered a fall as he walked from his rectory to the church, and since there was no one around, he used his medical alert to call for help.  Paramedics arrived, helped him up ... and he went inside and offered Mass that morning as usual, with a black eye and other bruises.  Then a couple days after that he came down with some breathing issues, and we wonder if the fall did something to cause that condition, or the condition led to his fall ... but from what I understood, without fluid building around his heart, that sounds to me like congestive heart failure, which is what my own father passed away from (when he was about a two years older than Father Carley).
