This is very sad and concerning. Bishop Tissier is an intellectual powerhouse, for decades one of the Society’s most important minds.
He was so instrumental during the 1980’s that Archbishop Lefebvre referred to Bishop Tissier as his “guardian angel.”
I have met the Bishop over the years. He is a gentle, kind, man who visibly radiates sanctity and piety.
He has been frail for many years, I remember attending an ordination some years ago and he had to recite some of the Canon sitting down due to weakness. There is always famously a can of Coca Cola hidden behind the altar when he says Mass in case he needs a spike in his blood sugar.
So many souls are indebted to His Excellency in many ways.
