Does the Shroud of Turin count as a film image?  Maybe Our Lord is the earliest born person ever captured on film.  Or are we talking only about moving pictures?

What is the meaning of the hand gestures?  Is that the sign of the cross?  It looks more like a hand wave to me.  But I'm not that familiar with papal traditions.
