  • Well, maybe there's something Providential about this. As a positive, I noticed my dad was wearing a cross pendant again at Christmas, so maybe the face of mortality is making him "relapse" back toward his childhood Catholic faith again. God-willing. He has an in-road back through me, he just needs to act on it.
    Still praying

Good news to hear that you were able to visit with him!  What a blessing!  Unless I have you confused with someone else, I thought you mentioned that you might not be able to see him because of the vax and your mom.
Surge, Domine, et dissipentur inimici, et eos qui oderunt te, a facie tua!
St Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle!

Oh yeah, she tried that angle, it didn't work because I'm pretty sure he chewed her out for it lol

My family prays for the sick and the suffering "for their conversion and salvation and for the health and welfare they desire". You should send a priest to hear his general confession and give him Extreme Unction. Do not let your past experiences with your Dad delay this. Let God sort out the rest.

Patience is a conquering virtue. The learned say that, if it not desert you, It vanquishes what force can never reach; Why answer back at every angry speech? No, learn forbearance or, I'll tell you what, You will be taught it, whether you will or not.

Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?

  • My father is recovering very quickly and doing well. Thank you for all of your prayers. I'm hoping this takes care of whatever cancerous issues he was having in his bowels.
