  • Please pray for my dear friends, Michael and Mary, whose first baby has just died.  The baby had yet to be delivered, but the good momma had carried the wee one for nine months.

They ask especially to be remembered in your Rosary intentions.

    God will reward your kindness.

Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

May God Bless your friends Michael and Mary and their beautiful little Angel.

  • I'm pleased that my monoglot self figured out what that says.
Now, what does your screen name mean?

  • Gladius,
I just now saw this and will keep Michael and Mary in my prayers.  I hope they are finding comfort in their Faith, family and friends.

They will need plenty of time to grieve but I hope that they will find encouragement in the examples of other families that have also lost little ones. I know of one family who lost their first and went on to have 8 more.  They always keep the first one in the final count for their family.

Did they baptize the baby (if it has now been delivered)?  I would since we don't know when the soul leaves the body.  Even a conditional Baptism could at least bring some comfort to the grieving parents.

  • My condolences.  Difficult as this may be, if you know them well, remind them to conditionally baptize their baby.  With our last child, my wife and I thought we had lost her, so I have a tiny glimpse of the horror of waiting to hear that heartbeat and not hearing it.
