Are you having the child at the hospital? It seems like if you tried to have this one at home (if that's what you mean by naturally) you might be taking undue risk if she's had complications before.
All my children have been delivered the normal way, thankfully, but I would exercise great caution if she's had problems before, to the point she would need c-sections.
I've had 2 c-sections. The first I feel was mostly the product of doctors tending toward the predictable (scheduled induction, c-section, etc.) rather than letting nature take it's course. The second c-section was a scheduled operation as a result of the first birth. I have no medical problems other than having been cut open twice.
For this one, we've dropped the traditional OB and are using a midwife. Ideally, I would have my midwife assist at the birth in a hospital so that, in the event of an emergent situation, I would already be in the hospital. However, that is VERY rare these days as midwives are not allowed to oversee a hospital birth without being "under" a doctor who wouldn't allow for the attempted vaginal delivery anyhow. (Again, prefering the predictible operation to the very small risk of a complication would COULD land them in a lawsuit.)
Instead, I will be laboring at a birth center which is near the hospital. I had the option of laboring at home, but we live in a somewhat remote area and I prefer to at least be near the hospital just in case. Also to be noted is that most birth centers have VERY low numbers of births requiring transfer to a hospital.
The plans for this delivery involved some BIG decisions that we'd prefered to have never had to make. But, we tried our best to educate ourselves, make a prudent decision, and then turn the rest over to God.
My official due date is Wednesday, so please keep praying for us until this baby has safely arrived.
