  • Make a novena for him, Sam.  I did for my father and he was baptized on his deathbed.  I remember a story Archbishop Sheen told about a dying man who refused even to talk to him.  So he finally told the man to just say, "My Jesus, mercy."  A short time later, few hours or days, a nurse called him and told him that the man had died, but the last few hours he repeated over and over, "My Jesus, mercy."

I will take this to Our Lady.  No better advocate ever lived.  And please pray for me, as my health continues to decline.

  • Put a Green Scapular around the neck of your grandfather (or if he refuses, put it in the room he is in near him). My grandmother hadn't gone to confession in 30-40 years. I placed a Green Scapular around her neck and made sure she wore it every day. She had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. She survived. I called a priest and she confessed.

The Green Scapular is a very powerful tool of conversion. I hid a Green Scapular in a picture frame with a picture of Jesus in it and gave it to my brother's friend who was born Orthodox but had become more Protestant in leaning. She placed the frame in her room, not knowing that a Green Scapular was hidden in it. A year later, she converted to the Catholic faith.

I will keep your grandfather in my prayers.

  • Thank you! Muchas Gracias! I did place a green scapular, brown scapular, miraculous medal, St.Benedict medal and a St. Michael medal under his pillow when we went to go visit him last wednesday. They moved him out of the ICU a few days ago and the nurses probably took them away while moving him,so Im going to go ahead and give him a few more sacramentals. And again, thank you for your prayers!

Make sure the sacramentals have been blessed by a priest - that is part of the requirements.
