Please keep my father in your prayers. He fell off a ladder this morning and was taken to the ER.
He has a broken clavicle, 8 broken ribs, a collapsed lung related to the rib fractures, lower back fractures, and a complete hip fracture on the right side.
He will need surgery for the clavicle and hip.
Nothing life threatening or crippling from what I understand, but they emphasized he is going to need a lot of time to recover completely.

We are still waiting to hear when his surgery will happen. He has had several x-rays and was in the ICU over night.
Thank you everyone for the prayers.

From my mother about my father:
The surgeon just came in and said surgery tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, April 15th.

That’s a drag. Hopefully he’ll heal quickly.

Thanks for the update, AMDG.:pray::pray: For successful surgery and a complete recovery. He must be suffering great pain.
-
Thank you to everyone who was praying for my father. The doctors say that his total hip replacement surgery went well. Everything else has stabilized and he may be able to go home on Monday or Tuesday.
It will be a long recovery process but at least the first step was a success. 😇🙏

Glad to hear it! Continued prayers.

My father walked across the room today without any support or walker!
Thank you so much for the prayers! His recovery has really been like a miracle!

Wonderful news! Thanks be to God.
Tell him no riding for at least a week. :jester:

And no climbing ladders! :laugh1::incense:
This is wonderful news. Thank God.

I laughed so hard when I read your post...
The funny thing is that my parents own a horse farm and my father used to help with the trail rides. So, what you wrote was almost too perfect! 🤣

My father fell yesterday evening while on the way to the bathroom.
It sounds like he is having internal bleeding and they believe that he has septicemia. He was transferred from our small town hospital to a larger city ER around midnight last night.
The doctor is supposed to visit him and my mother sometime today to let us know more for sure after the results from the scans and blood work comes back.
Please keep him in your prayers. 🙏
-
Will do. Keep us posted.

My parents agreed last night to allowing an SSPX priest to come and give my father Extreme Unction at the hospital just in case he doesn't make it. My parents go to the novus ordo. So this is a big deal.
That being said... My mother just messaged me saying that Dad's vitals are doing a lot better today and that he may be taken out of the ICU and into a recovery ward. If that happens, she said that they probably won't need a priest come out for Extreme Unction.
I am trying to get them to have a priest to come out anyhow because in my mind he could suddenly get worse. Please keep this intention in your prayers.

Your father is in my prayers, AMDGJMJ.
Especially important is this day being the feast of Saint Rita, saint of the impossible, "because no word shall be impossible with God" (St. Luke 1:37).

Update:
My father never ended up leaving the ICU yesterday after all.
Apparently he is losing blood. So, they think that he likely has internal bleeding. They took a CT Scan yesterday and are supposed to let us know the results some time today.
On the bright side, Father Waters from York, PA drove out and gave my Dad last Rites yesterday evening! 😇
(The SSPX wouldn't send one of their priests and suggested asking a novus ordo priest instead.) :fryingpan:

Fr Waters is our priest- he is wonderful. He is definitely in the business of saving souls.
Will pray for your father.

He really is amazing! He dropped everything as soon as I talked to him and left right away even though it was about a 3 hour drive one way with traffic. May God bless him!

Thank you all for your prayers!
I went to the hospital yesterday evening to visit my father. His vitals were stabilized and he was in a normal room. At the same time the doctors have not been able to figure out concretely what caused his episode.
He seemed to be in a lot of pain when I was there and he seemed to want to be alone. So, I didn't stay long.
Yet, at the same time he said he was just working on a bowel movement and thought he might be discharged today.
It was kind of weird and I haven't been able to get it off my mind. I am not really sure what to think.
-
What a blessing! Thank God.
I meant the visit by Father. We were typing simultaneously, AMDG.

Dear AMDGJMJ
Deo gratias. So glad that your father is better and hope that he continues to improve. The sacrament of Extreme Unction is often healing in body as well as soul.

Thank you so much, Nadir, Texana, and and Kephapaulos!
My mother says that my father's CT scan showed that he had a kink in his intestines but it is resolved now.
I looked it up and a bowel obstruction can cause septic shock and internal bleeding. So, that all fits together with what happened.
Hopefully he will be able to go home today or tomorrow. 😇🙏

My father was discharged from the hospital today. He is still a bit weak from not being able to eat solid food for several days but he has already been able to walk a bit!
Thank you all so much for the prayers! 😇
