I have a lovely thought. It is still May the month of Our Lady. Many of us have shrines in the home, outside, on our dresser drawers and on our walls. I would love to see what shrines we all have. I have one in a niche in my wall, but, I am an idiot of how to get a picture from my camera to this site. In the meantime, I would still like to see your shrines and I am sure others would too, before this month ends. Thank You!

I forgot to add, the children. Children make shrines to Our Lady, I would like very much to see theirs too! If anyone can help me to learn how to take a picture to put on this post, please let me know!

Does anyone have a Shrine outside?

I wouldn't call it a shrine, but my Mum, for well over 20 years, had a statue of Our Lady mounted on the side fence so that when she was working in the kitchen she could look out on it. Mum was disabled in her later years and left that house over 4 years ago. She went to her Lord and Lady during the octave of the Assumption last year. The house has been sold but I collected the statue and I now have Her standing on a rock in my front garden.

Oh! Thank you for that post! My parish priest had a sermon on just this subject. He was sorrowful for few people that he visited had shrines to Our Lady. What is really sad are the HMO's that will not allow ceramic statues. It scares people. I have Our Lady of Guadalupe that is heavy like cement that hangs on our house. We have no HOA, thank God! We have 2 statues in the backyard. We decided to take an old wheel barrow and use that for a niche. We have a place and I have the rustoleum paint ready. Then we have some left over rocks we hope to make another in the side yard for a cement statue. I hope they turn out nice. There is a site that I saw lots of shrine. I googled "Altar of the Blessed Mother" and that brought me to a post of youtubes of people showing their altars in the home, including children. Another was www.catholicculture.org/culture/liturgicalyear/activities/view.cfm?id=983
then My Blessed Mother Shrine/Altar & Crypt Grid
So there are pictures of Shrines on the google and boy, are they awesome!
