Original Prayer of Fr. Cyril of the Mother of God, first promoter of the devotion to the Infant of Prague.

 I found this very beautiful, original prayer to the Infant of Prague in an old book on the subject, and thought it would be nice to share it with all, as we soon approach the Feast of the Holy Nativity.

 This original prayer demonstrates the prayerful aspirations of Father Cyril as he expressed them after a revelation from the Mother of God.

 Let us approach our Little King during this Holy Season, and ask Him to mold our hearts like unto His own, begging Him to make us in spirit as 'little children', which we are told in the Gospels is necessary in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

 
 My Jesus, Holy Child, I love in Thee
 The Son of God and of the Virgin Mary;
 I pray from present needs, deliver me:
 For truly do I firmly trust in Thee
 That Thou as God canst provide for me.
 Wherefore, confidently I place my hope in Thee,
 That Thy favors will be granted to me.
 Hence with heart and soul I cherish Thee;
 Sorrow for my sins deeply grieves me.
 Because of them humbly I beseech Thee,
 O Jesus, to root them out completely.
 I promise never more to offend Thee.
 And therefore, Jesus, surrender all to Thee.
 My neighbor as myself I love for Thee.
 Most powerful Jesus, hear my prayerful plea
 To suffer and to serve Thee faithfully.
 And I adore and worship Thee accordingly.
 Deliver me from this necessity:
 That with the Virgin Mother, worthily
 Like Joseph and Teresa virgin, Thee
 We may enjoy with heaven's court eternally.
 O my Jesus, Jesus, dearest Jesus
 Have mercy on us. Amen! Amen! Amen!

 Fili Dei Patris, ex Maria Virgine,
 De necessitate hac, precor, libera me,
 Quia vere et firmiter credo in Te
 Quod tua Deitas possit invare me.
