Why is it that we refer to a subdeacon as being "ordained," despite the fact that the actual Sacrament of Holy Orders is only imparted on deacons, priests, and bishops? Further, why do we refer to a bishop as being "consecrated," and not ordained, despite the fact that the Sacrament of Holy Orders is being imparted?
